THE BLUEMULL Sound ferry will drop to a single vessel service later this afternoon (Monday) due to staff shortages.

The service will run to a Saturday timetable from 3.30pm to 5.40pm, with all bookings suspended.

Shetland Islands Council said it apologised for any inconvenience caused.

There has been disruption in the route in recent weeks due to staff absence.

The route links Unst and Fetlar to Yell.
