Business / New video gives insight into Scatsta rocket testing
A NEW video has been released offering a behind the scenes look at the rocket engine testing which took place at Scatsta Airport earlier this year.
German rocket maker HyImpulse Technologies was behind the tests, which were hosted by the SaxaVord Spaceport team.
Space centre CEO Frank Strang said at the time it was a “major milestone in the development of the space industry in Shetland”.
Meanwhile a new blog has been set up to give more information about the education, employment and skills opportunities a space port in Unst may offer.
A number of partners have teamed up to work together on supporting the aims what is called the Shetland’s Space Education, Employment and Skills Pipeline (SSEESP).
They include Shetland Islands Council, Edinburgh University and the UHI as well as companies such as Mesomorphic, Ocean Kinetics and Pure Energy Centre.
