Community / Bikers’ rally postponed again
THE SIMMER Dim bikers’ rally has been postponed for a second consecutive year due to the ongoing effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
The committee said it made the decision with a “heavy heart”.
“With the recent government announcements, the expectation of ongoing Covid-19 restrictions and the difficulty of planning a large scale social event given the unpredictability in the current climate, we feel this is the safest and only option,” it said.
The rally, which takes place in the summer, is now set to be held again in 2022.
It is the latest large event in Shetland to be postponed again, with the folk festival announcing recently it was holding off until 2022.
