Emergency services / Coastguard airlifts crew from yacht

Two Coastguard helicopters are involved in the search.

THE LOCAL coastguard helicopter was tasked this morning (Thursday) to airlift two people off a yacht after running into difficulty in bad weather 90 miles north east of Sumburgh.

The two crew of the 55 ft Saint Ali were taken to Sumburgh Airport after the call initially came in just before 5am.

They were airlifted to land at around 7.40am before landing in Sumburgh approximately 40 minutes later.
