News / Two men charged with flying drones near Up Helly Aa celebrations
POLICE in Shetland have confirmed that two men have been charged with breaking air navigation laws by flying camera drones over Lerwick on Up Helly Aa night.
The two men, aged 47 and 31, have been charged separately. Both will be reported to the procurator fiscal in due course.
Please note: We have been asked to clarify that the drone filming for Promote Shetland was operating legally and under licence for the night.
