THERE was a heroic display of muscle on show in Lerwick on Saturday as the latest North Isles Strongest Man competition took place.

Faroe’s Bjarni Nielsen was again named overall champion, while Jonni Manson bagged the Shetland title.

Luke Cromwell reigned supreme in the intermediate category and Stu Saunders picked up the novice title.

The event, which is put on by the Shetland Weight Training Club, was held at the Clickimin Leisure Complex.

It covered events like the squat, deadlift, tyre flip and yoke, with entrants from Shetland, Orkney and Faroe taking part.
