SCALLOWAY Hotel has been shortlisted in the Restaurant of the Year category at this year’s Highlands & Islands Food & Drink Awards.

The hotel, run by Caroline and Peter Mackenzie, was previously nominated for the honour in 2013.

It will find out at the awards ceremony on 21 October in Inverness if it has been successful.

The popular 23-bedroom hotel, which was the first in Shetland to receive two AA rosettes, is no stranger to winning awards and receiving nominations.

In April it was named the best independent hotel in Scotland at the Scottish Hotel Awards in addition to winning prizes for its food and hospitality.

In January Scalloway Hotel became the first hotel in Scotland to be accredited with paying a living wage.
