News / Missing woman found safely, police confirm
POLICE have confirmed that Leigha Williamson from Scalloway, who had been reported missing, has now been found.
Officers said the 44 year old, who had been missing since 11am on Tuesday, was traced in the Port Arthur area of the village – a short distance from her home – at around 1.30pm.
Local inspector Paul Daley said: “Police would like to extend gratitude to coastguard and lifeboat crews and volunteers for their assistance in today’s search efforts.
“We would also like to thank the media and members of the public who shared our appeal for Ms Williamson.”
