Letters / Membership figures
I usually try to cast an eye over your letters page on a regular basis and saw Full attack mode (SN, 16/02/15), so looked for the letter, which had caused Mr Nicolson’s reply.
In the last seven days there was only one, signed by an individual, Mr B Adams: Gesture politics (SN, 14/02/15).
No SNP, no “attack mode” nor mention of ZetTrans nor the SIC.
Possibly what would reassure Liberal Democrat voters in the northern isles would be the party membership they enjoy after returning an MP to Westminster for 55 years.
In spite of numerous emails to our MP, Mr Carmichael refuses to give out the figures, does not know them or is embarrassed by them.
I will offer Mr Nicolson, LibDem chairman, the same courtesy I gave to Alistair, and publish them within 72 hours.
After which I will be delighted to publish both the SNP and Liberal Democrat memberships in the interests of fairness to the electorate.
Prepare for a surprise!
Either from Theo or Alistair (don’t hold your breath); but more likely from me.
