Letters / Can we leave it at that?

Apart from him putting words in my mouth, it is quite clear from Chris Bunyan’s concluding paragraph (No renewables; SN, 03/02/14) that he is among that group of people who believe that without Viking Energy and its consequences Shetland faces not only a future without any renewable energy, but also economic and social disaster.

On this, as he should know by now, we beg to disagree.

Not only Sustainable Shetland, but many other people and several organisations believe that the costs of the Viking Energy wind farm to the environment and the community will be too much.

Please can we leave it at that?

Vice-chair
