AN EIGHTY eight year old driver from Burra was allowed to keep his driving licence after pleading guilty to causing a collision at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Thursday.
The court heard that Hugh Robertson, of 4 North Toogs, had successfully passed a driver assessment following the accident.
He was fined £200 and had his driving licence endorsed with three penalty points for failing to give way at the East Voe junction, in Scalloway, on 18 May.
Meanwhile 22 year old Thorfinn Craigie was lucky to keep his licence after being clocked at 91 miles per hour on the A970 near Fladdabister, on 4 July.
Craigie, of 6 Upper Hillside, Gulberwick, admitted the charge and was fined £400. His licence will be endorsed with six penalty points.
