Letters / Sandwick disgrace

The recent council discussion regarding the removal of skips and the concern over environmental issues doesn’t mean much in Sandwick, as anyone who cares to walk down Park Road adjacent to the entrance roads of Hjaltand housing and Park Wynd will see.

The environmental and safety issue of car wrecks by the side of pavement and the broken down wreck of a years old brick shop makes this area disgraceful and like living in a rundown housing area.

A car lies upturned while a newly added car wreck is positioned on the opposite side of the road with sharp bodywork ripped open and no wheels. This is next to a nursery.

This free for all public tip is worthy of a picture postcard!

We residents have to walk past this dumping ground of cars or other materials. Would this be acceptable in Lerwick?

Where is the voice of Sandwick community council, as this is the road tourists don’t see in the lovely views.
