News / Basking shark off Bressay lighthouse
A BASKING shark initially seen feeding in the water off the Bressay light on Monday morning was still in the area later the same day.
This photo of the 10 metre long plankton eating giant was taken by Lewis Sykes, while out fishing on Monday night.
The basking shark was first seen by tourists on board the cruiser liner Silver Cloud on Monday morning when the vessel was met by the Lerwick harbour pilot boat Knab at the south entrance of the port.
