News / Men stole
SENTENCE on two Shetland men was deferred for reports on Thursday after they pled guilty to a series of charges at Lerwick Sheriff Court.
Darren Lawson, aged 37, of Flat 1, 2 Mill Lane, Lerwick, admitted stealing a television worth £499 from Tesco supermarket on 25 January.
Lawson and 28 year old Calum Jamieson, of Room 1, Flat 3, 101 St Olaf’s Street, Lerwick, both admitted stealing three bottles of perfume worth £54 from Laing’s Chemist on 27 January.
Jamieson also pled guilty to possession of £35 worth of cannabis resin at Lerwick police station on 27 January.
He had previously admitted causing a breach of the peace outside a night club in Lerwick’s Quendale Lane, as well as struggling with police officers, on 24 March.
Sheriff Philipp Mann said that he could send both men to jail, but was willing to see if there were any possibilities for a community disposal.
