YOUNG Donnie Price from Shetland’s south mainland claimed a silver medal in the Scottish National Age Group Championships this week.
Donnie came from behind to take silver in the 1500 metres freestyle for 14 year old boys.
Amy Harper of Lerwick Swim Team won bronze with a personal; best performance in the 400 metre freestyle.
On Thursday evening several young Shetland swimmers will compete in various finals, including Andrea Strachan, of Lerwick, who was the second fastest qualifier in the 16 to 18 year olds 100 metre breaststroke.
Callum Macgregor and Felix Gifford have qualified the finals in the 100 metre freestyle, with Felix the fourth fastest qualifier.
Sarah Williamson and Megan Petursdottir compete respectively in the 13 year old girls 100 metre breaststroke and the 14 year old girls age 100 metre breaststroke.
10 Shetland swimmers are competing this week at Glasgow’s Tollcross Leisure Centre. The other swimmers are Calum MacCall and Logan Jamieson From Delting Dolphins and Donnie Price’s brother Eddie.
