In Pictures / Fiery finale to Cullivoe Up Helly Aa procession

CULLIVOE was lit up by the distinctive sight of a torch-lit procession last night (Friday) as part of its Up Helly Aa festivities.

This year’s Cullivoe Up Helly Aa is being led by Stephen Saunders, and you can read more about him here.

Something particularly eye-catching about this year’s squad was the galley head, which can be seen in a photo below – although it was not on the galley that was burned.

Meanwhile celebrations will continue in Cullivoe tonight with a variety concert and hop night dance.
