Community / Future of loss-making Hillswick Shop to be discussed at public meeting
THE FUTURE of the loss-making Hillswick Shop is set to be up for discussion at a public meeting next week.
The directors of Northmavine Community Development Company (NCDC) and its subsidiary, Hillswick Shop Limited, are inviting members of the public to a community meeting to discuss the shop’s future.
The shop, which has served the local area for many years, has been operating at a loss in recent years.
NCDC is set to stop providing financial support next month, at the end of the current financial year on 31 March, while options for the shop’s future are considered.
The meeting is said to be an important opportunity for people in the Hillswick community to share thoughts and ideas on how the shop can continue and evolve into the future.
The meeting will be held at 7.30pm on Wednesday 25 February at Hillswick Hall, and everyone in the area is encouraged to attend.
Those unable to attend in person can send views or comments by email to ncdcoffice@northmavine.com.
