Letters / Council’s Israel decision a ‘triumph’

I was delighted to see that clearer heads prevailed in regard to the vote on the council’s investments linked to Israel.

The vote to keep Shetland Islands Council’s Israel linked investments as part of their portfolio during Wednesday’s meeting was a triumph.

This was because the alternative would have put a considerable financial strain on our council, which could have proven difficult to recover from.

I hope from now on Shetland Islands Council will begin to again devote more time to Shetland, her people and the issues that truly matter to them.
