A step in the right direction

I want to take the time to thank Hannah-Mary for bringing the plight of Shetlanders and their struggles with ferry travel to the attention of the Scottish Government by getting a motion passed for prioritising fixed fares and cabin space that will be reserved to local passengers.

Back in 2022, I created a petition to get the pods replaced gaining over 2,000 signatures because people felt that the pods are just not suitable for getting a good rest.

Even though the pods are not being replaced, reserving cabin space for locals is a step in the right direction and people’s voices are finally being heard.
