Arts / Billy & Molly scoops two Emmy awards
AN OTTER love story filmed in Shetland has won two Emmy awards recognising outstanding excellence in the world of television.
Produced by Silverback Films for National Geographic, Billy and Molly tells the heart-warming story of how a malnourished otter became part of Billy and Susan Mail’s family at Shetland’s westside.
After already picking up a number of awards since its release first in the US and in the UK in November of last year, the documentary has now scooped two awards at the 46th Annual News & Documentary Emmy Awards, held in New York on Thursday night.
The film received accolades in the following categories: Outstanding Writing recognising the brilliant Charlie Hamilton James who brought the story to the world and Outstanding Promotional Announcement for the heartfelt trailer which captured the spirit of our film (see below).
Billy & Molly: An Otter Love Story is a remarkable story of trust, of joy and a shared love of the simple things in life, Silberback Films said.
