THE START of leg two of the Bergen-Shetland race back to Norway has been delayed due to “unfavourable” weather conditions.

The return leg was due to kick off at 5pm today (Saturday) but it has now been pushed back.

The interim new start time is a 12-hour delay to 5am on Sunday.

Another review will take place at 10pm tonight but it will not start before 5am on Sunday.

The start line has also been moved south to a virtual line off Bard Head at the south of Bressay.

More than 20 yachts began to arrive in Lerwick on Thursday as part of the annual race between Norway and Shetland.
