Community / Nesting area affected by power cut

MORE THAN 90 households in the Nesting area will have to wait until midday before electricity is restored to their homes and businesses, utility SSEN has confirmed.

The power went off in the Nesting, Skellister and Gletness area at around 6am on Thursday, initially affecting 175 customers.

SSEN said engineers are on site to repair faulty equipment. Eighty two customers have already been reconnected, while the remaining 93 are expected to get their power back by noon.

A spokesperson said: “SSEN would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience and to assure them that we are working to replace power as safely and swiftly as possible.”
