FILMING for the TV drama series Shetland will take place in Semblister in Bixter and Foulawick, near Brae, on Tuesday (8 June) between 7am and 8pm.

ITV Shetland intends to film scenes at Semblister in the morning and Foulawick in the afternoon/evening.

No official traffic restrictions are necessary on this occasion, but folk are asked to be aware – and cautious of – increased traffic in both areas throughout this time, especially vehicles emerging from side roads in the areas concerned.

Shetland location manager Davie Gardner said: “Our small fleet of technical support vehicles will be parked in surrounding areas too, so again be aware of this and operational activity around these as well.

“Our larger unit base – which includes articulated vehicles – will be located in the Bixter quarry throughout this time – with vehicles moving into that area from Monday afternoon onwards – so, again, be advised and wary of a significant amount of related traffic and parked vehicles in this area from this time onwards until we leave again on Tuesday afternoon/evening.

“Once again many thanks for your co-operation and apologies for any inconvenience caused.”

As previously announced, filming will take place in Catfirth, South Nesting today (Sunday) and Burra on Monday.
