Letters / Why can’t these be recycled?
Shame on me. Shame on Shetland!
Why can we not have our R-PET plastic food trays/containers, etc collected for recycling in Shetland – as these are collected for recycling as standard elsewhere in the UK?
I have a room full from over four months of buying our weekly shop in Tesco, Lerwick.
Can they not be sent to Aberdeen for recycling there, at the very least?
Beatrice – well done on being re-elected – could you take up this shameful non-recycling of plastic issue please – or should I just throw them all in the sea?
Of course, I’ve shocked myself how much has built up and need to take steps to reduce what we buy in plastic.
