News / Low-flying plane puts on show

A LOW-FLYING RAF plane caught the attention of folk around Shetland earlier today (Tuesday) as it undertook training.

The Hercules plane was spotted by folk in a number of areas, including Northmavine and the westside.

Sheena Peterson took the above video of the plane flying over Hillswick.

A RAF spokesperson confirmed it was out on routine training.

“An RAF Hercules from RAF Brize Norton is temporarily based at Leuchars Airfield in Scotland and is completing a variety of training including low flying across the North of the UK,” they said.
