THE REMAINS of a turtle are lying on an uninhabited island in Shetland after coming ashore earlier this year.

The remains of what is believed to be a leatherback turtle are located on the island of Papa near Scalloway.

It is thought that the turtle may have appeared in February after coming ashore and dying.
