Council / Slow down at the Dales Leas
MOTORISTS trying to catch the Yell ferry are being reminded to allow for more time after Shetland Islands Council imposed a mandatory speed limit of 20mph on the Dales Leas section of the A968 between Voe and Toft.
Contractors working on behalf of the council are currently replacing barriers along the carriageway.
Apologising for the inconvenience, a SIC spokesperson said the lower speed limit was necessary to reduce the risk to workers from speeding traffic.
The temporary traffic regulation order will be in place for the duration of the works.
