Community / In pictures: Santa comes to town

HUNDREDS of excited children (and their parents) were lining Commercial Street on Saturday afternoon to catch up with Santa Claus who had arrived from the North Pole on board the Lerwick lifeboat.

As in previous years, Santa Claus led a procession – organised by town centre organisation Living Lerwick – with a festive goat, two Shetland ponies as well as his friends from the Peerie Foxes nursery through Da Street to the Market Cross where the Christmas tree was lid.
