Letters / Would the complaints stop?
I can’t believe the gall of these women who want to be part of the Lerwick Up Helly Aa and complaining about the supposed money the council is spending (allegedly) on the day after (UHA campaigners at loggerheads with council again; SN, 19 July 2019)
I would really love to know if they would be singing the same tune if they were actually allowed to join the Lerwick Up Helly Aa, and would all these complaints suddenly disappear.
How many things do women do that are for women only and what would their reactions be if men suddenly said they wanted to take part in it (I would think they would be told No sorry this is for women only).
