Letters / Searching for ‘Sweet Jesus’

I have another question about a Shetland socialist of the past. In this case I don’t even know his name.

He went by the nickname ‘Sweet’ or ‘Sweet Jesus’. During the First World War he had disposed of a submarine, and, giving an account of the event afterwards, remarked ‘Sweet Jesus, whit a rumble!’

He was a frequent attender at Labour Party meetings around 1943-5. Does anyone know who he was was?
