Collections on Wednesday could be reviewed throughout the day.

Untethered wheelie bins living dangerously this summer.

SHETLAND Islands Council has warned that household refuse collections could be reviewed on Wednesday due to anticipated strong winds.

The local authority said on Tuesday that collections are still expected to take place and that residents should ensure their their bins are tethered securely.

Wind speeds of 60mph are expected, allied with frequent gusts of up to 75mph.

NorthLink Ferries confirmed earlier that its passenger and freight sailings are cancelled on Wednesday.
