Thule Ventus' David Polson.

A LOCAL dried cod company says it is “delighted” after winning a national food and drink prize.

Thule Ventus netted the best use of Scottish Produce prize at the Scotsman’s Food and Drink Awards in Edinburgh on Tuesday night.

It comes shortly after the company, run by David Polson, won a prestigious accolade from Great Taste.

Lerwick Brewery was nominated for the best craft beer prize at the Scotsman awards, while the Stevenson Tea Room at the Sumburgh Head lighthouse was up for the hidden gem gong.
