News / Tourism businesses on show
MORE than twenty of Shetland’s tourism businesses will feature at Scotland’s biggest travel trade show in Glasgow next week.
They are being brought together by Sharing Shetland, a venture launched by former Busta House owner Veronica Rocks to promote isles businesses.
The likes of Scalloway Hotel, Saxa Vord Resort, Shetland Lighthouse Holidays and Hoswick Visitor Centre will all be represented at the VisitScotland Expo 2018 event at Glasgow’s SEC on 11 and 12 April.
“Sharing Shetland is delighted to be part of Expo 2018 and I very much look forward to sharing Shetland with these global buyers,” Veronica said.
“It will be a pleasure to introduce them to the vibrant community of accommodation providers, transport operators, tour guides, visitor attractions and artisan designers, all working together to welcome visitors to Shetland and to offer facilities of the highest quality and the warmest of welcomes.
“Shetland offers visitors a unique and rich experience in a place to remember forever.”
VisitScotland islands manager Steve Mathieson said it was “very encouraging” to see so many Shetland businesses again being represented at the event.
“We have a good mix of businesses under the banner of Sharing Shetland, to showcase to these tour operators and travel agents what our fantastic islands have to offer.”
