News / Baby loss awareness week
LERWICK town hall will be lit up in blue this week to mark baby loss awareness week.
Marie Manson, of the local branch of the Stillbirth and neonatal death charity Sands, said the awareness week would end with a “global wave of light” when candles are lid on Sunday at 7pm to remember the babies who have died.
Manson said she has just been to Edinburgh for a parliamentary candle event where MSPs were asked to add bereavement care to their agendas “so that all parents and families receive the best care no matter where they live.”
The local Sands branch said it would mark baby loss awareness week when member of the group will be at the Toll Clock Shopping Centre throughout Saturday
“We will have some candles available. Please feel free to come along and see us for a chat,” Manson said
