News / Whitedale win league for first time in nearly three decades
WHITEDALE has won the football A league for the first time in nearly 30 years after a victory over second placed Ness Utd on the final day of the season.
The team won 3-2 at their home ground Storm Park on Friday evening, with goals coming from Bobby Scott, Greg Tulloch and Duncan Anderson for Whitedale and from Ian Bray and Ryan Keddie for Ness Utd.
Ness Utd were three points behind Whitedale before kick off, meaning that a win for the visitors would have resulted in a nail-biting championship play-off having to be scheduled.
