Police investigate serious assault

A SIXTY six year old man suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries following an alleged serious assault in the Walls area on Friday evening.

The injured man required treatment at the Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick.

A 27 year old man is in police custody in connection with the alleged assault, and is expected to appear at Lerwick Sheriff Court later on Monday.
