News / Denies assaulting man
A TWENTY seven year old man has been bailed after denying injuring another man by kicking him on the body at a residential address on the West Side of Shetland on Friday.
Andrew Cumming, of Kirkidale, Walls, appeared from custody at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Monday to plead not guilty to kicking the man and knocking him to the ground to his injury.
He also denied driving on the A971 at Walls unsupervised while holding only a provisional licence, no insurance or a valid test certificate for the vehicle on Saturday.
Cumming was released on bail with special conditions not to approach the alleged assault victim and not to enter a residential area in Walls. The matter is set to go to trial on 21 December with an intermediate diet on 22 November.
