THE LERWICK Lifeboat crew will feature in a BBC Two documentary tonight.

The volunteers’ rescue of five men from fishing boat Ocean Way earlier this year will be included in the 12-part RNLI documentary series Saving Lives At Sea.

The programme featuring the Lerwick crew will be broadcast tonight (23 August) at 8pm.

The fishermen were rescued from the 24-metre Ocean Way in March after their vessel took on water east of Whalsay and sank.

They had to jump into the water, which was thought to have been less than seven degrees in temperature, before being collected.
