A SECOND alert has been issued within a week relating to blue green algae in Shetland.
It has now been spotted in the Kirkhouse Water, near Park Hall in Bixter, after it was found in Voe last week in what was the first sighting of the summer.
Notices warning against contact will be put up in local shops, the veterinary surgery and on access routes/next to the loch.
NHS Shetland and those with fishing interests have been advised of the situation, while adjoining land owners will be contacted.
