News / Burra fun run raises cash
NEARLY £2,000 was raised for community defibrillators at the weekend as almost 300 people took part in the first Burra fun run.
Merran Nugent, who organised the event alongside Carole Smith, said she was “absolutely delighted” by the amount raised following Saturday’s event.
Entrants could walk or run distances ranging from one mile to ten kilometres.
The community aim to install two defibrillators at the Hamnavoe shop and Bridge End Outdoor Centre and the Lucky2BHere charity will assist with training.
