News / Soft play plans pulled
PARENTS have expressed their disappointment after plans for a long-awaited soft play centre in Shetland were shelved less than a fortnight after being revealed.
Tuns o Fun, which would have been based at Gremista Brae, received widespread support from the public on Facebook as proprietors Shereen and Joel Friedlander looked to secure planning permission.
However, the couple said on Thursday they would no longer pursue the project after receiving “soul destroying” negativity on social media, with some locals apparently showing frustration at suggestions that there may have been an age limit of eight.
In a post published on the Tuns o Fun Facebook account, the couple said they needed to “step back from it all and put ourselves first”.
While they may have “something else in the pipeline”, they were pulling the plug because they wanted “across the board” support from locals.
