News / Wind knocks out electricity
ELECTRICITY supply to a number of homes in Unst was disrupted on Wednesday morning after an overhead power line was brought down by strong winds.
SSE confirmed that supply to six houses in Uyeasound was affected at 8.20am, and when engineers arrived on site it was necessary to isolate the supply to a further 11 properties at 10am in order to safely carry out repairs.
All supplies were restored by 12.40pm and SSE said: “We would like to apologise to all of those affected and thank our customers for their patience whilst we carried out the repairs.”
