News / First North Isles awards
NOMINATIONS for the first North Isles awards can now be made online at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/V2K66HK
The new awards, designed to celebrate all that is brilliant about living in Unst, Yell and Fetlar, are the brainchild of local tourism officers Kellie Naulls and Selina-May Miller.
Winners of fun categories such as ‘Best Beard in the North isles’, ‘Cheeriest Crofter’ and ‘Best Smile’ will be announced during a glitzy awards ceremony on 18 November.
Voting takes place online via the Visit Unst and Visit Yell Facebook pages.
“The awards ceremony was decided to bring together all of our work over the last year, and get folk together in the North Isles for a night of fun, glitz and glamour,” Naulls said.
“We hope that lots of islanders can make it and we can celebrate the North Isles as a whole.”
Organisers added that late ferries would be put on to ensure visitors can travel back from Unst at night.
