News / Levenwick’s cash boost
LEVENWICK Village Club has been given over £100,000 by the Big Lottery Fund to develop the village hall and campsite, as well as launch new community groups.
The funding, which totals £106,190, will allow the club to employ a community development worker.
They will be tasked with developing a number of new projects in the local area, such as a men’s shed, a fall prevention programme and a toddler and youth club.
It is estimated that the project will involve around 200 people over a five year period.
The village club funding is one of 18 grants announced on Thursday by the Big Lottery Fund.
They have been made through a five-year £250 million scheme which aims to help people and communities to “overcome challenging circumstances”.
