BRIT Award-winning solo artist Finley Quaye heads north next month to perform in Shetland for the first time.
Quaye, who won best male artist in the 1998 Brit Awards, will perform an intimate acoustic show at the Lerwick Legion on Friday 18 November as part of a European tour showcasing new material alongside stripped-down versions of classic older tracks.
Best known for 1997 chart hits Your Love Gets Sweeter, Even After All and Sunday Shining, which featured on his acclaimed platinum-selling album Maverick A Strike.
In 2004 he scored a chart hit with the single Dice, a collaboration with top dance producer William Orbit and singer Beth Orton.
The Edinburgh-born musician, who also won a MOBO in 1997 for best reggae artist, went on to release four further albums between 2000 and 2014 and is currently in the process of recording his sixth album – due for release next year.
Special guest for the show w ill be Shetland’s very own Arthur Nicholson. The First Foot Soldiers frontman will be playing material from his well-received solo album. DJ Lyall Halcrow will also feature on the bill – performing an aftershow DJ set.
