News / Helicopter landed safely after scare

AN EMERGENCY was declared at Sumburgh Airport on Thursday afternoon after a warning light came on in the cockpit of an incoming helicopter.

The Babcock operated Sikorsky S-92 with 14 people on board landed safely at around 2.45pm after emergency services were called to the scene.

A spokesman for the company said the crew requested priority landing and that engineers were now investigating the technical issue.
