News / Danus Skene memorial
A MEMORIAL service to celebrate the life of Danus Skene will be held in St Columba’s Church, in Lerwick, on Friday 28 October at 3pm.
The 72-year old SNP politician died last month after undergoing surgery in a London hospital.
Skene had stood as the SNP candidate in both the Scottish Parliament and the Westminster election losing narrowly against LibDem MP Alistair Carmichael in May 2015.
The retiring collection will be for the Tarnos School, in Kenya, which was founded by the late Danus Skene.
