News / Police seek crucial witness
POLICE in Lerwick are keen to trace a young woman who is described as a “crucial witness’ after a man was injured in an assault at a house at 10 West Baila, in the early hours of Sunday.
She is described as “a young adult woman with brown hair who was believed to be at the address at the time the incident started”.
Detective Sergeant Bruce Peebles of Shetland CID said “a man has been detained in relation to the matter” but enquiries were still ongoing.
He added: “Police would urge this witness to come forward and identify themselves to the enquiry officers.
“Likewise, if anyone has any knowledge or information regarding the identity of this female or regarding the incident generally, they are urged to contact the police on 101.”
