News / Gremista fire

TWO people were taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation following a fire at Lerwick’s Gremista Industrial Estate on Thursday.

Fire crews were alerted at 11.20am to a fire in a pump room at the rear of the Lerwick Fish Traders building.

Five appliances, police and the ambulance service attended.

At one point two hose reel jets were deployed, while breathing apparatus was also used.

Police confirmed there was smoke damage to the building.

By 2.10pm there were two fire appliances from Lerwick left at the scene.
