News / Mossbank post office hours cut

THE OPENING hours of Mossbank Post Office are to be cut in an effort to “maintain services” in the village.

From 12 September, the post office will only be open for a total of ten hours instead of the current 16.

Under the new hours, it will be open between 9am and 12pm on Monday and Wednesday, as well as from 2pm to 6pm on Friday.

The post office was previously open on Tuesdays.

Post Office’s David Duff said cutting opening hours represented the “best way” to maintain a postal service in Mossbank.

The move was at the request of the current operator based on customer usage.

“We believe that the change of opening hours presents the best possible solution to allow us to maintain Post Office services in Mossbank in the longer term,” Duff said.

“Our priority is to safeguard Post Office services to the local community and we are confident that the new opening hours will adequately meet the needs of the community and will ensure the service is sustainable into the future.”
